What Does a Centrifugal Sand Separator Do?

Water flows rapidly through the sand separator, and through centrifugal force, blasts sand, particles, debris and sludges outward against the sand separator walls, then downward in a cyclonic flow movement. The intense gravitational force created, separates the solids materials downward, past the reflector plate, and into the solids holding area below, while the clean, particle and dirt-free water rises back up and out.

Centrifugal sand separators have no moving parts and require little to no maintenance, with the exception of purge valve monitoring and release, to flush out built up solids material and sludge removal. Sludge capacity is 75% the volume of the head, for not running interference with the reflector plate between purge cycles. Sand Separators are used in agricultural, industrial, municipal and commercial water industries.
